BOISE, Idaho (AP) — It's all taking place online and Idaho donors and nonprofits have 24 hours to make it happen. On Thursday, more than 500 nonprofits across the state hope Idahoans will open their wallets during "Idaho Gives," the inaugural one-day-only online fundraising campaign sponsored by the Idaho Nonprofit Center.

The goal is to get as many people as possible to donate to a cause of their choice. The fundraising for charities — ranging from Big Brothers Big Sisters to Idaho Youth Ranch — will happen almost entirely on the web.

The day of giving will coincide with several statewide charity events planned for Thursday. Events include a block party in Boise, a party in Pocatello sponsored by United Way and a dog walk at an animal shelter in Idaho Falls. http://idahogives.razoo.com/giving_events/id13/home
