DUBOIS, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho school district has canceled classes for the rest of the week because so many students are sick with flu-like symptoms. Clark County School District in Dubois released students at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Superintendent Dan Lantis says the illness was concentrated among the kindergarten through fifth graders, with 14 absent and another 16 that were ill out of a total enrollment of about 80 students.

The district runs on a four-day week and they dismissed early last Thursday, hoping the long weekend would cut down on the spread of the sickness. Lantis says attendance was better on Monday, but declined again on Tuesday. The high school students are not as affected and their basketball games will be played as scheduled.
