Can you imagine condensing the Tower of Babel into a school?

A friend told me his son had soccer teammates here in Twin Falls who spoke more than one-half dozen languages.

They’ve done it in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  56 languages spoken by students.  I was shocked a decade ago when I learned there were 18 languages being spoken in New York City schools.  Clearly the variety has grown.  Are additional teachers and translators hired?  The unions would love it!  There was a time when I imagine foreign students had to learn English and quickly.  It coincided with the rise of the American Empire now said to be in decline.

A friend told me his son had soccer teammates here in Twin Falls who spoke more than one-half dozen languages.  What was it Alex Karras said about foreign kickers in the NFL?  “I’m going to keek a touchdown!”

Are we prepared for the growth in language variety?
