BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho residents who fill up at the pump this week will pay 11 cents more per gallon than they shelled out last month — and a penny more per gallon than the national average.

The Idaho Statesman reports average regular unleaded gas prices jumped to $3.53 over the last 30 days, making Idaho one of only five states where prices rose since mid-March.

But prices are still cheaper than in some of Idaho's neighboring states. Californians will pay an average of $3.98 this week, while Oregon, Nevada and Washington's prices hover around $3.70.

This month's average is less than what Idaho residents chipped in at this time last year — average fuel costs rang in at $3.77 last April, 14 cents lower than the national average at the time.
