BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Supreme Court is expected to hear three cases in Boise this week, including an appeal in a case where a man was charged with violating a protection order. The case began when Carey Mitchell Baker was charged with a misdemeanor because Ada County prosecutors said he violated a civil protection order by calling his ex-wife.

He pleaded guilty to that charge in exchange for the prosecutors agreeing that the state wouldn't file any additional charges against him; Kootenai County prosecutors later charged Baker with violating the protection order because they said he previously called his ex-wife while she was in northern Idaho.

The high court is expected to consider Monday morning whether the Kootenai County charges were barred by the plea deal Baker reached with Ada County prosecutors.
