Idaho Wild Horses Up for Adoption From Challis Heard

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A dozen wild horses are up for adoption from the Bureau of Land Management. Officials say the horses were gathered from the Challis Wild Horse heard in October last year. BLM Spokesperson Heather Tiel-Nelson says the horses are young and the majority of them are fillies. The BLM is hosting a walk up adoption on this Friday at the Boise Wild Horse Corrals off of Pleasant Valley Road.

The young horses will be on display from 1pm to 5:30pm. Adoption cost $75 per horse. People will have to set up an appointment after seeing the horses to adopt. BLM has specific rules on adopting wild horses. You must be 18 years of age, never have been convicted of animal abuse or cruelty. You also need a safe trailer to transport the horse. BLM will not load a horse into a two horse trailer or ones with ramps. All individuals must be pre-approved before they can bid on a horse.  Applications may be filled out at the adoption and approved onsite.
