IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Officials with federal and state wildlife agencies are investigating after they say black bear hunters killed an 11-year-old male grizzly bear in eastern Idaho. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game says the hunters were seeking black bear when they killed the grizzly on May 7 in the Caribou-Targhee Forest near Island Park. Both black and grizzly bears live in the region, which is near the southwest corner of Yellowstone National Park. The state agency is assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in the investigation.
