Idaho Woman Accused of Setting House on Fire With Kids In It

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 35-year-old Garden City woman is charged with setting fire to a southeast Boise house while three kids were inside. Jodi Renee Bassett was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of first-degree arson and three counts of felony injury to a child for the Dec. 19 fire.

She was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. Court records say the children were able to escape unharmed before explosions blew out windows and left the garage door bulging.

Firefighters called the blaze suspicious, and police say they have evidence that implicates Bassett. Officials did not say how old the children are.
