NEW MEADOWS, Idaho (KTVB) - One person was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning when a car struck a deer, sending it crashing through the windshield of another vehicle. The accident happened on U.S. Highway 95, west of New Meadows at about 9 a.m. Idaho State Police say 39-year-old Kristen Blehm, of Redding, California was driving south in a Subaru Outback when she hit a deer. The deer then went through the windshield of a northbound Chevy pickup driven by 44-year-old Jeffrey Church, Fruitland.

Church's front seat passenger, Gail Church, 67, also of Fruitland, died at the scene. Church and a back seat passenger, 88-year-old Hilda Nuttman, 88, of Cottonwood, were take to St. Luke's McCall Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Police say everyone was wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Idaho State Police continue to investigate the crash.
