BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 31-year-old Boise woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for aggravated driving under the influence stemming from a crash that injured her daughter.

But 4th District Judge Melissa Moody at a sentencing hearing on Tuesday suspended the 10 years and told Cheyenne Schroeder-Courtois that she can have the conviction removed if she completes 10 years of probation. The Idaho Statesman reports  that Moody told Schroeder-Courtois that if she fails she'll have to serve two to 10 years in prison.

Schroeder-Courtois on Dec. 2 crashed her vehicle and her daughter was ejected. The girl has fully recovered and is now a straight-A student in junior high school. Schroeder-Courtois' attorney told Moody that Schroeder-Courtois was on a number of prescription medications and that caused her to black out. Schroeder-Courtois will have to serve eight days in jail.
