Call it a solution in search of a problem.

The legislation is to ensure a biker doesn’t get pulled over because a trooper, deputy or police officer doesn’t like the look of a vest.

Idaho Legislators are forwarding a motorcycle profiling bill.  Apparently, this is happening even though Idaho law enforcement doesn’t profile bikers for traffic stops.  Like people driving cars and trucks, the men and women driving motorcycles only get pulled over when speeding, driving erratically or dangerously.  The legislation is to ensure a biker doesn’t get pulled over because a trooper, deputy or police officer doesn’t like the look of a vest.  Because hypothetically, it could happen.

This is the same legislative body rejecting a plea from law enforcers to better regulate bounty hunters.  A bounty hunter can apparently pull a fellow off a street corner, give him a badge and then go off like a posse in an old western film to snatch a supposed outlaw with sometimes calamitous results.
