The Idaho Education association is leading an effort to have Tom Luna's education reform package repealed. Two of the three bills in that package have already been signed by the governor. The actions of the Idaho Education Association could prevent those laws from ever being implemented. The IEA filed two petitions- one for each reform bill. It's likely a third petition will also be submitted if the third education reform bill, which is up for discussion for later today, also becomes law. The language in the petitions asks voters to support their effort and must be approved by the state attorney general's office. The IEA and its supporters have the task of collecting more than 47,432 signatures. IEA president Sherri Wood says this is the public's final chance to undo what lawmakers passed.
