JEROME, Idaho (KTVB) -- Idaho State Police say a Pocatello woman making an illegal U-turn on an Interstate 84 emergency crossover near Jerome caused a two-vehicle crash Monday morning. The accident happened at 11:34 a.m. on I-84 near milepost 165. Troopers say 50-year-old Bernadette Nelson was eastbound in a 1998 Chevrolet van when she attempted to turn around in the crossover.  Her van pulled out in front of westbound 2012 Ford Escape driven by 67-year-old Emily Osterhout-Priest of Meridian. Both women were wearing seatbelts, but suffered injuries in the crash.  They were transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.  Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
