BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police say they have arrested an Illinois man sought on a warrant in connection with four recent armed bank robberies in the Chicago area.

Idaho police spokeswoman Teresa Baker says a trooper stopped a black Ford Taurus with Illinois plates late Monday night on Interstate 84 near Nampa for excessive speed. The trooper discovered the warrant and arrested the driver, identified as 20-year-old Kenneth A. Hunter of Olympia Fields, Illinois.

Hunter appeared Tuesday afternoon in federal court in Boise. He was also cited for speeding and careless driving. On Dec. 19, the FBI in Chicago issued a news release in hopes of locating the man dubbed the "Mug Shot Bandit." The robberies took place between Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.
