Investigation Continues Into Plane Crash that Killed Micron CEO

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal transportation safety officials are still investigating the nearly 2-year-old plane crash that killed Micron's CEO. National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Keith Holloway told the Idaho Statesman earlier this month that there is no set date on when a final report will be available. The Feb. 3, 2012, crash killed 51-year old Steve Appleton. He was the only person on the experimental plane when it steeply banked, stalled and crashed near a Boise runway. The four-seat Lancair IVP-PT was built in 2007. The engine, engine accessories and three aircraft recorders were recovered for analysis. Appleton had been CEO and chairman of the memory chip maker since 2007. He had worked for the company since 1983.
