There are rough places no matter where you are.

Some can’t get out and would like other options. Some are there because of bad choices they’ve made.

Some neighborhoods where mom and dad told you not to play.  It isn’t a judgement on the folks who live there.  Some can’t get out and would like other options.  Some are there because of bad choices they’ve made.  We do our best to be charitable but we can’t even take care of all of our own.  Then we’re expected to open the doors and empty the worst parts of other nations.  There’s some dispute about what Donald Trump said about Third World migrants.

Even if he did label some countries “s***holes” is he wrong in his assessment?  If your country is plagued by dengue fever malaria and HIV it isn’t paradise.  If the government changes as frequently as we change socks it’s not a place we’d want to live.  If the land has been denuded and the kleptocrats have absconded with the treasury then we recognize the danger signs.

But we don’t have room for 7 billion people in the United States and I don’t believe any rationale American disagrees.  More on this subject from Friday’s edition of Top Story:
