Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The Idaho State Police say they are continuing to investigate a vehicle collision that involved a Cassia County Deputy Vehicle.

Police say the deputy had his siren and lights activated when he approached Main Street and Overland around 4:19 pm Thursday January 15. The deputy was responding to a call that there was a reckless driver unable to maintain the lane of travel they were in along Highway 30.

Dash cam video indicates the deputy nearly came to a complete stop before proceeding into the intersection when a white van, traveling south, pulled in front of the deputy and collided. No one was injured and everyone in the van was wearing their seatbelts.

Both airbags in the deputy’s vehicle deployed. The Police say there is no reason to believe drugs and alcohol was involved. It's not known if any citations will be issued as the investigation continues.
