WENDELL, Idaho (AP) — Officials in Gooding County say an Idaho State Police trooper has been cited for inattentive driving after rear-ending a pickup truck driven by a former police officer in Wendell. Sheriff Shawn Gough says Trooper Leslie Nye of Heyburn was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger patrol car when he hit a Dodge pickup driven by Dave Fisher, a former Wendell police chief. Gough says Fisher had stopped to make a left turn into a convenience store when he was struck by the patrol car shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday. There was extensive damage to the patrol car, but Gough says no one was injured in the crash.
