Jack Black and Tim Robbins may not be the box-office draws they once were, but could they pull in the HBO crowd? We'll find out, as the premium cable network has recruited the duo to headline a new dark comedy pilot from director Jay Roach, taking the world of geopolitical crises to 'The Brink'!

Via The Hollywood Reporter, the new dark comedy pilot from executive producers Jerry Weintraub, Jay Roach and Roberto Benabib focuses on "a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate and desperate men." Black and Robbins, who previously shared the screen together in 2006's 'Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny,' will take two of the aforementioned roles, while ace Navy fighter pilot Zeke Callahan has not yet been cast.

Robbins will take the role of US secretary of state Walter Hollander, described as a man of big appetites and little patience for the war mongers in the Situation Room. Black, on the other hand, will play Alex Coppins, a lowly foreign service officer reluctantly caught on the ground in the middle of the conflict. Former 'Weeds' writer siblings Benabib and brother Kim Benabib will write the script, with Roach set to direct the pilot, employing Black and Robbins to be producers, as well.

Well, what say you? Would you want to see Jack Black and Tim Robbins together for an HBO series? Who should round out the trio as the third main cast member?
