With less than three weeks until release, Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Slayer' has settled on their final approach to selling the movie, as all the latest bits have focused on the spectacle. That's apparent in the new trailer and the latest clips that shows the giants going into battle.

Though there are more live action versions of fairy tales in development, 'Jack the Giant Slayer' is coming after two Snow White movies ('Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'Mirror Mirror'). Of the two, the grittier, darker version was the bigger box office hit, so it's likely that they decided to focus on the spectacle here and play down the comedy apparent in earlier trailers, perhaps also hoping for some association with 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.'

Originally a summer film, it will be interesting to see if 'Jack' can attract a large audience at this point, as it feels like the hype machine just started to kick into gear. March has launched some big budget smashes like 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'The Hunger Games,' but also has been home to some expensive misfires, like 'John Carter' and 'Sucker Punch.' We shall see.

Here's the synopsis:

An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend - and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

And here are those clips. 'Jack the Giant Slayer' opens March 1.
