Jeremy Renner would not make a very good spy. The guy can’t keep his mouth shut! If you’re doing something secretive, you’re supposed to keep quiet about it. But earlier today Renner teased something he’s doing for Marvel as Hawkeye, the master archer of the Avengers. And, really, Renner should know better because he works for S.H.I.E.L.D. (and as Jason Bourne’s replacement in ‘The Bourne Legacy’!)

Okay, so obviously it’s all part of a deliberate tease and he’s suckered me in just like everyone else. Damn you, Jeremy Renner! Stop preying on my sensitive emotions and love of characters who use bows and arrows when guns are readily available! Here’s what Renner posted earlier today on WhoSay, along with a graffiti-style shot of Hawkeye:

Tues morn. I find myself in costume again. I just can't tell you why. And it still fits! #marvel #avengers #hawkeye

As for what this covert op might be, we have a few guesses. He might be filming a guest spot on Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ (Hawkeye is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, after all). Or he might just be doing some reshoots for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ as Marvel makes their final tweaks to the film ahead of its May 1 release date. We’ve reached out to Disney to see if they had a comment on Renner’s little hint; so far, mum’s the word.
