Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Jerome Authorities arrested two men and a boy late Wednesday night following a 6 minute high speed pursuit that went from inside the city to 7 miles into the county.
Captain Jack Johnson with the Sheriff’s Office said that about 9:20 pm, a homeowner in the vicinity of 400 south and 300 east reported that a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and shooting a gun outside the passenger window. The witness described it as a small blue or grey car. A deputy saw the vehicle but was unable to catch up with it in the beginning. It was later spotted by a city officer about 9:30 along Buchanan street. Police activated their emergency lights. That’s when the vehicle sped north on Lincoln traveling 50 to 60 miles an hour. The vehicle continued on north Lincoln with speeds reaching 100 miles an hour. The driver reached the 700 north road where they surrendered to authorities.
Inside the vehicle authorities found a handgun that was reported stolen along with some other weapons. At least one other may have been stolen as well, Johnson said.
Police are investigating whether these individuals are part of the recent burglaries that have occurred in both the city and the county
The names of the adults or their charges have not been released.
