The man who has spent the last three years as chief deputy for the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office says he plans on running for Twin Falls county sheriff. The times news reports that Jack Johnson will challenge Sheriff Tom Carter, also a Republican, in the May  2012 primary. Johnson has been campaigning for the office on a facebook page. He started with Twin Falls County in 1985. Carter has served at the twin falls county sheriff since winning a contentious election against former sheriff Wayne Tousley.  So far Johnson is the only candidate to declare his intentions to run for the office.
