Jerome City Administrator Resigns
JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)- The City of Jerome announced the resignation of City Administrator Polly Hulsey. According to the city Hulsey stepped down from her position for personal reasons. The resignation is effective immediately. In a city press release Mayor John
Shine stated “Polly has been an outstanding asset to the city and will be greatly missed.
I was surprised by her resignation but understand that she needs to move ahead to the
next phase of her career”.
Hulsey’s resignation comes a little more than a week after the former City Fire Chief Jack Krill resigned. All this comes on heels of a major structure fire that sparked a controversial bill that was sent to the owner of the burned building. The City of Jerome sent a nearly $100,000 invoice for costs of fighting the largest blaze in Jerome History.
The following statement was issued by Polly Hulsey Tuesday afternoon:
“I have been dedicated to serving the community of Jerome in a proactive and positive manner during my tenure. So, it is with tremendous sadness that I tender my resignation as City Administrator of the City of Jerome effective September 17, 2013.
This has been a very difficult and personal decision for me. Due to a recent inaccurate article that questioned my credibility and integrity, it is very important to me that I am able to protect my name. The City of Jerome has recently experienced several challenges; however I can assure you the staff is dedicated to serving the citizens of Jerome.
The City of Jerome has some very talented and dedicated staff members, as well as elected officials serving the community. I have not been asked to resign and have had a good relationship with the City staff, which makes my decision even more difficult. My hope is the community will continue to support these incredibly hard working individuals, as they continue to serve their community.
I consider everyday a gift from God and have worked very hard to make a positive difference for the City of Jerome. I value all of the support I have received and appreciate everyone’s affirmation of who I am and what I represent. I wish nothing but the best for the future of Jerome.”
