Jerome County Commissioners will meet again May 31st for more discussions on plans to hold yet another bond election for new county jail.  This will be the fourth attempt to pass a bond for a new lockup facility.  The first three have been rejected by voters.  Over the past few weeks the commissioners have listened to several proposals.  Right now the estimated cost for a 120 bed facility, scaled back from the original 150, is estimated to run between 8 and 11 million dollars.  If the fourth attempt fails commissioners say they may consider looking into a proposal from Gooding County that would include a regional jail facility in Wendell.  Jerome commissioners say right now the indications from the public seem to be a desire for their own facility so commissioners are going with that until the election.
