Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A Jerome man was in court Monday afternoon for a sentencing hearing on charges of trafficking marijuana.

45 year old Douglas Williams Peters was arrested in October of last year after selling large quantities of marijuana to undercover officers on two separate occasions.

He has been charged with trafficking in marijuana with over one pound but less than five.

Monday afternoon he was back in court for his sentencing.

Peters was sentenced to a unified sentence of 8 years with 3 years fixed.

In addition to prison time, Douglas will pay a 10-thousand dollar fine, along with more than 6-thousand dollars in restitution.
