Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Jerome School District is once again asking voters to approve a $1.3 million supplemental levy.

The district has used the same levy for the past 12 years to help with operational costs. The district is continuing to see an increase in students and without the supplemental levy, could see some significant problems.

"If it's not renewed we will have to meet with the bored and discuss what cuts can be made. We would probably be looking at increased class size further. We have already reduced equipment and supplies so really we're looking at personnel," said Dale Layne with the district.

A separate $24 million bond levy was approved last year to help improve school buildings. Additional classrooms at the high school and Jefferson Elementary will be ready by next year. Other major improvements will be phased in over the next two years, including a new gym and cafeteria at the high school.
