Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - A motorcycle crash that happened Saturday morning has claimed the life of a Jerome woman.

The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash that happened just before 9 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 between mile markers 168 and 169 near the city limits of Jerome. Authorities say that Jamie McDonald, 38 was following another motorcycle when part of the seat of the lead cycle came off. The victim slowed down, but lost control of her bike and crashed. The Deputy investigating the crash said it appears that her biked flipped, throwing the victim off. She was not wearing a helmet.

She was taken to the Twin Falls hospital and later airlifted to St. Alphonsus in Boise where she passed away Wednesday.
