KIMBERLY, Idaho (KLIX)- A Kimberly Couple who work for the school district claimed $100,000 from the Idaho Lottery. Lottery official say Shane and Kelly Depew won playing the Scratch Game 10X the Money. Kelly is a Kimberly Middle School teacher and Shane is a maintenance worker for the school. They claimed their winning on Wednesday.

“This is start over money,” said Kelly. “It’s going to pay off the bills and give us a fresh start. And the kids will be able to have nice presents under the tree for Christmas.”

“I bought one ticket in the morning that didn’t win, so I went back to the store in the afternoon and got another one,” explained Shane, who bought the winning ticket at the Fast Way 66 on Center Street in Kimberly. “I scratched it right there at the store and couldn’t believe it when I realized it was a $100,000 winner.”

Shane took the ticket and showed it to Kelly.  When she realized it was indeed a $100,000 winner, she began to cry. “They were definitely happy tears,” Kelly confessed.

For their part in selling the winning ticket, Fast Way 66 receives a bonus of $10,000 from the Idaho Lottery.  One top prize remains in the game.
