TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Starting Monday, a portion of road will close for two days at the intersection of Washington Street North and Cheney Drive.

According to the City of Twin Falls, the inside northbound lane at the intersection will close as contractors prepare connections from the city water system to new waterlines that will serve new development in the northwestern part of the city.

The outside lane northbound will remain open, and all other lanes will be unaffected. The city encourages drivers to detour around the intersection to avoid delays. Contractors on Tuesday will determine if further lane closures are necessary.

Also, North College Road between Washington Street North and Fillmore Street is now open. Drivers should, however, continue to expect some delays due to final contract work in the area. The road closed earlier this year as part of the first phase of the Cheney Drive Expansion Project.
