UPDATE: Firefighters Make Headway on Southern Idaho Fires
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Fire crews across Southern Idaho have responded to multiple fires that started Monday afternoon. According to the Bureau o f Land Management most were caused by lightning from thunder storms that went through the area.

- Emery Fire
o Start: 5:25 p.m. July 1, 2013
o Location: 13 miles S of Oakley, ID
o Estimated size: 600 acres
o Resources: 7 engines, 2 water tenders, 2 dozers, 1 helicopter, Flathead Hotshots
o Estimated containment: July 3rd at 1800
o Estimated control: July 7th
o Cause: Lightning
o Structures: None threatened
o Ownership: BLM
o A firefighter on the Emery fire experienced a heat related injury this afternoon, and was transported to St. Luke’s in Twin Falls for treatment. The firefighter was released last night and is in good condition.
- Jim Brown Fire
o Start: 6:22 p.m.
o Location: 6 miles SE of Richfield, ID
o Estimated size: 13,000 acres
o Resources: 9 engines, 1 dozer, 1 water tender from the Carey Rural Fire Department, 1 dozer en route
o Estimated containment: July 3rd at 1800
o Estimated control: July 5th at 1800
o Cause: Lightning
o Structures: None at this time.

- Pointe Fire
o Start: 6:28 p.m.
o Location: 6 miles SW of Rogerson, ID
o Estimated size: 2,760 acres
o Resources: 5 Engines, 1 Water Tender, 1 helicopter, 8 smokejumpers, 2 seats
o Estimated containment: July 5th at 1800
o Estimated control: July 7th at 1800
o Cause: Lightning
o Structures: none at this time

- South Pointe Fire
o Start: 6:28 p.m.
o Location: 9 miles S of Rogerson, ID
o Estimated size: 152 acres
o Resources: 3 Engines, 1 Dozer
