Lightning Storms Ignite Numerous Fires In Magic Valley

At least 19 different fires were started around the Magic Valley area due to yesterday's thunderstorms.   As of last night no structures had been threatened by the fires. Most of them were burning in Gooding and Lincoln counties. Power outages were also reported is some parts of the valley.  Fire crews were still on the scene of some of those fires early this morning.   Lightning strikes are also to blame for four larger fires burning in the treasure valley area. One  Boise area firefighter had to be treated for minor injuries he sustained while battling one of those fires. Yesterday's storms brought a lot of lightning and thunder but very little precipitation. Areas of Twin Falls County reported some hail and some rain but for the most part only trace amounts of precipitation were reported in the valley.
