The Magic Valley area is known to be so Republican that it’s not uncommon for many of the Republican candidates running for office to run unopposed.  This election season will see some competition for at least two of the state offices up for grabs in the Magic Valley.

Pat Marcantonio of Twin Falls has announced she will be running on the Democrat ticket for the State Senate seat in District 24.  She will be running against incumbent Senator Lee Heider.   Rosemary Fornshell of Twin Falls will run as a Democrat against incumbent State Representative Stephen Hartgen.  Those wishing to run in the primary and general elections have until 5 o’clock Friday to file the paperwork.
