UPDATE: Local Weatherman Faces Rape Charges

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – A meteorologist for KMVT was arraigned in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court on Monday on charges of rape.

Bond for John (Jack) William Holland, 23, was set at $10,000. The alleged incident happened at Holland’s apartment Friday night in Twin Falls.

According to court records, Holland met a woman for a date at a local restaurant and afterward invited her to his apartment. She agreed and followed him there. “Once there, Mr. Holland poured a substantial amount of ‘Gentleman Jack’ whiskey in what she described as a glass tumbler and handed it to her,” the woman told police. The woman “said she did not feel well and laid on the couch.”

Holland grabbed her and asked that she “show off” while she was inebriated, according to court records, and then he “led her to his bedroom while she was stumbling.” It was there that Holland began to taunt and force sexual actions on her. The woman told police she tried to resist his advances, and scratched Holland on his stomach area.

According to the affidavit, the woman told Holland several times to stop, “that she did not want to do this.”

After the woman filed a complaint, police secured a search warrant for Holland’s apartment and found items as the woman described them, including a used condom in a trash bin.

At the arraignment Monday Holland entered a plea of not guilty. Bond was requested to be $50,000, but the judge reduced the amount to $10,000.

Holland’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 12. A no-contact order was issued for the alleged victim. If found guilty Holland could face one year to life in prison and could pay $5,000 to $50,000 in fines.
