Louisville 82, Michigan 76

Reserve guard Luke Hancock scored 22 points, including making all five of his 3-point shot attempts, as Louisville beat Michigan, 82-76, in the 2013 NCAA basketball championship in Atlanta on Monday night. The victory gave Cardinals’ head coach Rick Pitino a second national title in addition to the one he won at Kentucky in 1996, making him the first coach to win a men’s NCAA basketball championship at two schools.

Peyton Siva added 18 points for Louisville (35-5), which won its third NCAA basketball championship — and first since 1986 — despite trailing by 12 points late in the first half. Trey Burke scored 24 points for Michigan (31-8), while freshman teammate Spike Albrecht tallied a surprising 17 points, including six 3-point baskets, as the Wolverines built an early lead they could not hold.
