The man blamed for igniting the fire in the Snake River Canyon that burned through the Auger Falls area and threatened several homes along the canyon rim was in court yesterday.
55 year old Don Garibaldi of Buhl  is accused of starting the fire when he allegedly tossed a lit cigarette butt into the dry grass.  But his pretrial hearing yesterday was continued in about six weeks.  The holdup is a tape from 911-dispatch that containing a recording of the calls regarding the fire from July 22 of last year.  Garibaldi is facing three misdemeanor charges and could face up to six months in jail and a $1000 fine for each charge.  The fire burned about 600 acres in the canyon area.
