Man Facing Theft Charges May Have Used Obituaries to Rob Others

TWIN FALLS, Id ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Police believe they have found a man they say used local obituaries to burglarize homes in Twin Falls over the last year. According to city spokesperson Josh Palmer, nearly half a dozen homes were burglarized around the same time the families posted obituaries in local media, now they say 26 year old Michael Smith may be responsible.

Smith was arraigned Monday on unrelated grand theft charges after allegedly stealing six bikes from area hotels. However, prosecutors have not charged smith with the home burglaries at this time.
