Man Heads to Trial for Event Center Stabbing Death

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A south-central Idaho judge has ruled there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial for a man charged with voluntary manslaughter after a coroner testified the victim had 13 stab wounds in his back and one in his arm. The Times-News reports that Twin Falls County Magistrate Judge Roger Harris on Friday determined prosecutors presented enough evidence against 21-year-old Cayde Lish. Twin Falls County Coroner Dennis Chambers testified 24-year-old Jerimiah Paiz died from the stab wounds, and that two stab wounds entered a lung. Paiz died Oct. 6 from the stab wounds he received at the Canyon Crest Dining and Event Center, located on the rim of the Snake River Canyon. Paiz's girlfriend, Kayla Webb, testified the two men fought after Lish used a racial slur against Paiz.
