A 29-year-old Jerome man charged with shooting a Jerome police officer during a chase has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three other felonies. The Times-News reports Christopher Mark Taylor entered his pleas Monday in 5th District Court. He is also charged with aggravated battery on a police officer, attempting to elude a police officer and unlawful possession of a firearm. Taylor is charged with shooting Officer Dennis Clark on February 7th, causing Clark to lose the sight in one eye. He's being held in the Jerome County jail on a one million dollar bond.
