As cancellations and renewals fly in every direction, we're still reeling from the news that 'Agent Carter' will spy her very own Marvel TV series to go along with a second season of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..' And while we've technically seen 'Agent Carter' in action before, check out Peggy's first official key art poster for the forthcoming series!

Marvel has also released the official synopsis to coincide with Hayley Atwell's return to the 'Captain America' character, while the key art features 'Agent Carter' in silhouette in front of what looks to be an early S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. The series will be executive produced by 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' writers Christopher Markus and Steve McFeely, who also wrote the pilot, along with 'Reaper' creators/showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas. Marvel Studios film producers Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jeph Loeb will also act as producers.

Here's how Marvel describes 'Agent Carter':

Marvel's 'Agent Carter,' starring Captain America's Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' along with the short 'Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.'

No word yet on when 'Agent Carter' will premiere, or for how many episodes, but the running presumption is that the series will fill in the gap between halves of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2. In the meantime, check out the key art below, and tell us what you think of Marvel's new series in the comments!
