McCain Foods Plans Major Expansion
BURLEY, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A global company is growing its business in Southern Idaho. McCain Foods USA announced Wednesday it wants to expand its plant in Burley. Idaho’s First News Reports 130 new jobs is just one benefit from the expansion of the McCain Foods plant in Burley.
Right now, the plant employs more than 600 Southern Idahoans. Officials with McCain Foods say the new employees would occupy a new building to be constructed soon. The announcement for the expansion came Wednesday afternoon… But permitting still needs to be approved. The building would create a new production line in addition to the two lines the McCain Foods plant already has in operation. State officials from the Department Of Labor, Agriculture, Commerce all played a role in the project.
In addition to the Burley plant, McCain Foods also has plants in California, Illinois, Maine, Nebraska, New Jersey, Washington State and Wisconsin. The company boasts it is a leading supplier of frozen potato and snack food products.. It is mainly known for its French Fry production.
