Family and friends gathered Wednesday night at the University of Idaho to remember and celebrate the life of Katy Benoit. The 22-year-old grad student was shot and killed by a former assistant professor a little more than two weeks ago.  People said Katy led a life that touched the souls of many.  Those closest to her let the Moscow community know about her kindness. Katy's sorority sisters also addressed the audience saying Katy could make friends with anyone.  They said she was strong willed and strong minded. Idaho's News Channel 7 reports that Katy's mother and father were at the service but they chose not to speak.  Instead, a good family friend spoke on their behalf.  Mark Stephenson said the Benoit's shared with him how deeply touched they have been with the overwhelming support and kindness they have received. The Boise family thanked the University of Idaho and to those who had organized the event.
