A memorial service is being planned for two Coeur d'Alene soldiers who died in Iraq last week.  An improvised explosive device struck a U.S. military convoy in Baghdad last Thursday, killing 24-year-old Spc. Nathan Beyers and 20-year-old Spc. Nicholas Newby. Beyers was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant. The soldiers' remains will be transferred to their families on Friday. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports the public is invited to attend the service Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lake City Community Church Staff Sgt. Jason Rzepa Rzepa of Coeur d'Alene also was injured in the attack, and his legs were amputated below the knees. He is recovering in a military hospital. The soldiers were assigned to the 116th Cavalry Heavy Brigade Combat Team, based in Post Falls.
