TWIN FALLS, Idaho (News Release) – The College of Southern Idaho will host two renowned military music ensembles this month. Both performances are free and open to everyone, but each will require that tickets be obtained in advance.

The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West returns to Twin Falls at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium. This band of nearly 50 musicians is the largest performing ensemble of the Air Force and has performed shows worldwide. Its mission is to tell the Air Force story, honor military heritage, enhance morale, and recruit service in the U.S. Air Force.

This show is co-sponsored by the Times-News and free tickets are being issued at Times-News offices in Twin Falls and Burley. Requests for up to four free tickets can also be made by mail by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Times-News, Attention: Air Force Band Concert, 1510 Overland Ave., Burley, Idaho 83318.

The U.S. Navy Band’s Country Current will perform a free show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Country Current is the Navy’s premiere country-bluegrass ensemble, made up of seven musicians with diverse backgrounds.

The group has toured extensively and is co-sponsored by Feathered Winds Wine, Richard and Carolee Dykes, and Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Blake.

Admission is free, but advance tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained from the CSI Box Office in the Fine Arts building between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Country Current Tickets, Fine Arts Building, College of Southern Idaho, P.O.
