Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Some students at the Minico High School walked out of class this Monday morning to show support for a student that died of suicide Friday afternoon.

The students had posted their plans through social media claiming the school wasn’t honoring the student that had died and they had nowhere to turn. Superintendent Kenneth Cox said as of Monday morning, the district has established grief counseling at the school and is encouraging students to visit with a counselor if they have questions or concerns.

The students were out of the classroom for only a few minutes after meeting at the auditorium. Superintendent Cox said that everyone returned to their class peacefully.
