Missed Stop Sign Results in Deadly Crash in Canyon County

CALDWELL, Idaho (KLIX) Police say a young person was killed late Thursday in a crash south of Caldwell after a driver went through a stop sign.

According to Idaho State Police, the juvenile was a passenger in the minivan of Manuel Ver Gonzalez, 32, of Boise, when he didn’t stop at a stop sign on Homedale Road and Farmway Road a little before 10 p.m. A Dodge Ram 3500 hit the minivan as they went through the intersection.

The young person died at the crash scene while two other juveniles were taken to the hospital. ISP does not know if everyone had been wearing seat belts at the time. The driver of the pickup did have his seat belt on. The crash is under investigation.
