The next section of road in Twin Falls to undergo extensive rehabilitation may be along Eastland Drive.  City Engineer Jackie Fields presented the City Council last night with a list of problems and possible solutions to fixing parts of Eastland Drive that are deteriorating quickly. Fields said it would take between $4 and $6 million dollars to fix the section of roadway with the money coming from reserve funds from several of the city departments.  An area of Eastland Drive between Falls Avenue and Addison Ave. East was scheduled for replacement in 2015 at a cost of around $19-million dollars but officials say the deteriorating part can’t wait that long.  City Council members asked Fields to get more information before they approve money for the project.

Also at last nights’ meeting Twin Falls City Councilman Greg Lanting was appointed Vice-Mayor, taking over that position with the resignation of Lee Heider.  And newly appointed councilmember Rebecca Sojka was sworn in to replace Heider.
