More School Districts Ask For Bond Levies

As March of 2014 approaches yet another Magic Valley school district plans to ask voters for more money to run the schools.  Members of the Kimberly School Board voted last week to approve a $600,000 supplemental levy that will be voted on in March.  Officials say the money from the two-year measure would be used for operating expenses and to help get the district back to pre-2009 levels when the economic downturn forced cutbacks from textbook purchases to staff.  School officials say the Kimberly district has gotten about 30 percent more students in just the past two years.  Jerome and Twin Falls have also announced school levy elections coming up in March.
