TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) A moving company worker was arrested Sunday after admitting to stealing from a customer.

Holman Escobar-Pleitez, 39, was arrested on felony grand theft by possession of stolen property Sunday afternoon after Idaho State Police trooper found jewelry, valued over $1,000, in Plietez’s possession. Court documents said the trooper pulled over the moving truck for speeding and asked to search the vehicle, to which the driver and passenger Escobar-Pleitez agreed.

The trooper said he searched the truck’s contents, including any of the workers’ personal items. He said he found necklaces, rings and ornaments in Escobar-Pleitez’s backpack that were consistent with the customer’s items in the truck. The trooper said he called the customer to confirm the possessions were theirs.

After getting confirmation, they totaled the value, which added up to over $1,000. Escobar-Pleitez admitted to taking the property with the intent to sell when the trooper arrested him, according to court documents.
