NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A Nampa man is in critical condition after his tractor ran him over after he failed to correctly put it in park.

KTVB reports that Rick Watson was taking a break from mulching his pasture when he noticed the tractor was headed toward him and ran out to stop it, misjudging the speed and getting trapped under the mulcher.

His wife Teresa Watson says he was flown to Saint Alphonsus in Boise Sunday, where he remains in critical condition.

Ryan Watson says the incident left his father with cuts on both his legs, a broken arm, a cut to his axillary artery, and a broken femur.

Doctors say they expect Rick to be in the intensive care unit for up to three months, but do say he's improving.
